Translation and proofreading services

International Languages takes care of your most important documents. Whatever translation you need, from user manuals, labels, products descriptions to contracts, website content, company descriptions, training material, advertising and marketing material, press releases, etc., you`ll get premium quality and timely results. Being based in Romania, a high proportion of our work involves translating documents in the following language combinations:

– from English into Romanian

– from French into Romanian

– from Italian into Romanian

– from Spanish into Romanian

– from German into Romanian

Nevertheless, our expert linguists also translate regularly from and into several other languages. For further information on any of our services or to request a free quotation please get in touch with us.

The entire translation workflow is coordinated by one of our skilled project managers and each document is handled by two of our professional linguists. The project manager will select for each assignment the linguists who have the right qualifications and experience in order to make sure you can completely trust the final translated document. They all work as a team to ensure the final translation is 100% accurate, ensuring that your message is conveyed properly and adapted from one language to another.

5-STEP WORKFLOW DESIGNED TO ENSURE THE HIGHEST STANDARD OF QUALITY

1. TRANSLATION:

The project managers select the most appropriate translator for the assignment. Research is one of the most important aspects for delivering a high quality translation. The linguist either chooses to do research as he/she goes along or to do as much research as possible before starting the translation. While translating, the linguist pays attention to the client`s reference files and specific requirements, he/she makes sure the terminology used is specific to the field and he/she makes sure to convey the meaning of the source text in a clear and easy to understand way. He/she makes sure the translation is complete, that there are no omissions or grammar, punctuation and spelling errors. If the customer provides a reference document, the translator will check the terminology and the translation solutions in that specific document. If no reference document is provided, the translator checks the terms in various terminology sources and databases relevant to the field.

2. RE-READING:

After having finished the translation, he/she reads it again and runs a Quality Assurance check. However, before re-reading it, the linguist takes a pause in order to be able to switch perspective and fine-tune the text. For all these steps, the translator uses a checklist in order to make sure he/she hasn`t missed any aspect.

3. REVISION:

All translations are revised thoroughly by a senior linguist – the reviser. The reviser makes sure the translation complies with the references provided, he/she checks the text for grammar, spelling, punctuation, register, specific terminology, correct understanding and rendering of the source text. At the end of each assignement, the reviser assesses the translation (he/she gives a mark and constructive feedback about the translation). He/she splits the errors identified into the categories below, which help the translator and the project managers to spot easier the areas of improvement of each linguist:

failure to understand the source text, mistranslation;
omission (or addition);
wrong terminology;
failure to use reference documents, attempts to retranslate quotations, existing material, etc.;
inadequate formulation, lack of clarity;
grammar mistakes;
punctuation mistakes;
spelling mistakes

4. REVISION CHECK:

We use a Project Management Tool, which automatically sends the revised version of the translation and the assessment to the translator. He/she then has the possibility to check the changes made and, if needed, to send his/her remarks about the revised version.

5. PROJECT MANAGER`S/QUALITY CONTROLLER`S FINAL CHECK:

The project manager/quality controller does a final check of the revised text, he/she makes sure the customer`s specific requirements have been met and he/she runs a final Spell Check and Quality Assurance check in at least one CAT tool. This way, any potential errors related to tags, numbers, dates, completeness, consistency, key terms and other specific requirements are eliminated.

Having a vast experience with translating various documents specific to EU institutions and bodies, we are fully aware that quality comes first. Thus, one of our long-term priorities has been to build and retain a strong team of excellent quality-focused linguists and project managers we can always rely on. And we managed this by combining a strict selection process and an overall quality system and by dedicating a lot of time and resources to the recruitment and management of our linguists. Words are meaningful to us. We won`t simply translate words. Our linguists understand the nuances of each language and have expert subject knowledge, which allows us to provide a world-class service to our clients. Our linguists use computer assisted translation tools in order to ensure consistency, help reduce costs and follow a strict quality assurance check process.
